Dhaka National Medical College Bangladesh made its appearance in 1925 as the Dhaka National Medical Institute as a part of the Non-cooperation movement.
The college then stopped functioning after the Independence of Bangladesh in 1972, although the associated hospital remained active. It was further originated in 1994 and re-opened to its first batch of students.
Dhaka National Medical Institute Hospital has an 850-bedded hospital with a 24*7-hour emergency service. The hospital is in nearby to the academic building. It offers a 5-year MBBS course approved by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) and Dhaka University, Bangladesh.
